Big Sis and Lil Bro

Olivia is slowly adjusting to life as a big sister! Except for a few meltdowns, she has been doing well. The toughest times are in the mornings and when she is tired, times she usually likes a little extra attention. We occasionally get "Mommy, put Baby Bro down!" She seems to be most jealous when I am feeding him. She actually asked to hold him for the first time yesterday which made us very excited! It will take time but I think she is going to be a great big sister!
Alex is also doing great! He had an appt on Friday to check his weight and he is now 6lb 15oz. The doctor would like to see him back to his birth weight of 7lb 10oz by the time he is two weeks old. He is in the 75th percentile for length, 50 th for head size, and 25th for weight. He has been a great baby so far, sleeps most of the day and night. Usually 1-2 feedings over the night. So far, he rarely cries and is content laying in the cradle, crib, moses basket, or bouncy chair. He is very sweet and lovable and I just hate to put him down! I know, probably starting a bad habit but they are only this little once! He seems so strong to me, he can pick his head up and roll to one side! He has been living up to his little nickname of "Alex the Great!"

He's Here!

Little Alexander James Pugh arrived on Saturday April 12, 2008 at 10:19pm! SURPRISE!! Mommy was sick all day with flu-like symptoms. Lower back pain started in the afternoon but the doctor thought the pain was from dehydration. Mommy decided to go to the hospital and while waiting to be seen, her water broke! Alex arrived an hour later! Daddy was on his way back from Florida so he wasn't able to make his big debut. Alex is perfect, lots of "fuzzy" brown hair (as Olivia calls it), blue eyes, and chubby cheeks! He is so sweet and is doing great! Olivia was happy to meet her baby brother but was more interested in going back to "Mimi and Pappy's house" or playing with the rocks outside the hospital. We hope to be home on Wed! More pictures to come soon!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!!

Olivia recently made another trip to the zoo thru a playgroup event and we had a great time! Grammy joined us and it was the perfect day to see all the animals! Almost everything was out and about and we even saw gorillas running in a group. All Olivia kept saying was "Aya touch it!" and she would somehow try to make her way over the railings! She would also tell me "Mommy, take a picture!" I think one of her favorite parts was the reptile house and seeing a Komodo dragon walking around. She pointed out to us several times the "poopy" that it had made in front of the window! After seeing all the animals, we rode the train and merry-go-round about a half dozen times! Thankfully Grammy didn't get sick spinning so much on the carousel! She was so much fun to take to the zoo now that she recognizes and names all the animals. Her new nickname should be "Olivia the Jungle Girl!"
